Music has always been an integral part of Chris Thornton’s life. His 18 years of Djing experience has taken him from the early days of plugging away in the bedroom on his belt-driven turntables at the tender age of 15 to today’s busy schedule of rocking dance floors all over the UK and afar and the running of a music agency consisting of 15 DJ’s and 3 bands.
Chris hasn’t achieved his career goals without some serious work and determination. The early days saw him gigging all over his native Selby playing hard house and trance. Later Chris made the decision to take his talent abroad and grace Kavos in Corfu with his cutting edge djing skills. His first venture abroad was more successful than he ever had imagined seeing him rock club nights, boat parties, after parties and workers parties all over the island. After a belter of season in Kavos, Chris returned to England to discover work was none too illusive picking up where he left off smashing dance floors in Huddersfield, Leeds, Doncaster, York as well as appearing on radio shows.
If you’ve never heard Chris play expect a blend covering every aspect of the house spectrum from cutting edge future sounds to old skool and classic house. His lifelong unadulterated passion for music comes across in clarity in his original sets. You only have to look at this guys face when he’s on the decks to see what rocking a busy room does to his adrenaline levels! Chris’s main passion these days is in house music but feel free to name a style and the chances are he can mix it and has done over the years whether it be: garage, chart, hardcore, trance or anything in-between.
To summarise, one of DJ Chris T’s main catalyst to success has always been searching and innovating new and original methods to promote himself, his club night (Funky Fresh), and his agency (Funky Fresh Entertainment). His efforts to press haven’t seemed to have fallen on deaf ears securing him his second season abroad this year in Bulgaria which is shaping up to be a main player on the European club scene.
Expect to hear Chris T’s name on a massive scale in the years to come as he goes on to propel himself and his rare talent from each of his self sculptured professional platforms.
