Chris Lawlor

CHRIS LAWLOR BIOGRAPHY: - 1993 - PRESENT
Having achieved Grade 5 trumpet by the age of 9 Chris always had an ear for music.
Fast-forward 6 years and he found himself on his friend’s decks. He was immediately
hooked and within a year was a ‘warm-up’ DJ in his hometown of Halifax, West
Yorkshire.
Chris has never looked back since and has held residencies and had guest appearances
at clubs in many of the major towns and cities in England and has also held
residencies in Europe.
Chris has played with DJs such as:-
Graeme Park,
Alistair Whitehead,
Graham Gold,
Lisa Lashes,
Andi Durrant (Riley & Durrant)
Shaun “Banger” Scott
Paul Taylor and
Tony Walker.
In the past Chris has played for brands such as
Cream Classics,
Dirty Little Funkers
Chris now juggles a residency at Voudou, Barnsley whilst regularly playing with
Funkydory, Glasshouse and is now a resident for legendary club night Love To be…
which is owned and run by Tony Walker.
Chris can play a wide range of musical styles from speed garage to trance but his
love is and, always has been, House in all its forms. He doesn’t see himself as a
“conventional” DJ either; “I like to play the decks and mixer like musical
instruments – from using the sampler on the mixer to looping and scratching. This
makes every gig I do different. I also can’t keep still!!!” says Chris.
When asked what was next for the 33 year old he says
“The next 12 months you are going to hear a great deal about Chris Lawlor. I’m going
to be pulling out all the stops and I am also turning my hand to production and
there will be some Radio work happening in the very near future too!!”
It looks like Chris is going to be hot on everyone’s lips in 2010. So in the words
of Chris….. “GET READY”!!!!!.
MIX COMING UP SOON!
